Incentives for Brownfield Redevelopment

Businesses that cleanup and redevelop an existing brownfield site are provided with generous financial incentives, job creation incentives, regulatory benefits, technical assistance, and liability protection.

Capital Investment Tax Credit

The Capital Investment Tax Credit is for eligible projects in the designated high-impact portions of the following sectors: advanced manufacturing, clean energy, biomedical technology, financial services, information technology, silicon technology, transportation equipment manufacturing or a corporate headquarters facility. This incentive is used against the corporate income tax.

High Impact Performance Incentive Grant

The High Impact Business Performance Incentive Grant is a negotiated incentive used to attract and grow major high impact facilities in Florida. Grants are provided to pre-approved applicants in certain high-impact sectors as designated by the Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO).

Job Creation Incentive Grant

The Job Creation Incentive Program was created by Pinellas County to provide the County and municipal partners an additional tool to encourage new capital investment and high wage job creation for new and expanding companies.

Urban Job Tax Credit

The Urban Job Tax Credit Program offers an incentive for eligible businesses located within one of the 13 designated urban areas to create new jobs. Credits can be taken against the Florida Corporate Income Tax or the Florida Sales and Use Tax. These tax credits are provided to encourage meaningful employment opportunities that will improve the quality of life of those employed and to encourage economic expansion of new and existing businesses in urban areas of Florida.
