Pinellas County celebrates major headquarters expansion at Wendover Art Group

Largo, FL, December 12, 2025 – Today, the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners celebrated the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Wendover Art Group, a leading American manufacturer of high-quality artwork, mirrors, wallcoverings, lighting, textiles, sculptures and more, in honor of the substantial expansion of its corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility in Largo, Florida. The 69,000 square foot addition was made possible, in part, through Pinellas County’s Employment Sites Program (ESP), which is dedicated to supporting local business growth and creating high-wage jobs.
The expansion, which significantly added to the company’s existing 130,000 square foot building, included vital improvements like enhanced dock access, rear loading manufacturing space, a showroom, and a new stormwater system. This investment supported the continued growth and expansion of Wendover’s luxury portfolio. Wendover acquired Lowcountry Originals in 2022—a South Carolina-based maker of hand-forged lighting, bed swings, mirrors, and sculpture. In 2023, the company added two artisanal brands to its portfolio: Kevin O’Brien Studio, a textile studio renowned for its hand-dyed velvet pillows and bedding, and Friedman Brothers, a 120-year-old manufacturer of decorative mirrors and furniture accessories.
Pinellas County Commissioner, Kathleen Peters, highlighted the impact of the Employment Sites Program on the local economy, “The Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners implemented the Employment Sites Program to help local, high-growth companies like Wendover Art Group secure the space they need to expand their capacity and operations. This expansion project perfectly illustrated the program’s mission by utilizing Penny for Pinellas funds to foster a robust economic climate, retain valuable manufacturers, and create more career opportunities for our residents. We were proud to partner with Wendover as they continue to invest in our community.”
The ribbon cutting was attended by Pinellas County Commissioners Kathleen Peters, and Dr. Rene Flowers; Suzanne Christman, Pinellas County Economic Development Division Director; PCED staff; Wendover Art Group’s CEO, Richard Forsyth, and the company’s staff and leadership team.
Richard Forsyth, CEO of Wendover Art Group, emphasized the crucial role of the county’s initiative in facilitating the company’s growth, “The Pinellas County Employment Sites Program was essential to moving forward with this major expansion. This 69,000 square foot addition allowed us to double our manufacturing capacity right here in Largo. By helping us enhance and upgrade our meeting spaces to world class quality for our team member experience, the ESP is directly supporting our ability to provide the space to move Friedman Brother Mirrors, build one of the only custom glass shops in the US, and relocate Kevin O’Brien Studio’s luxury soft goods workshop. This move ensures we remain The Source for Art.”
“Wendover Art Group is an incredible Pinellas County success story, growing from a small print company to a multi-channel American manufacturer serving top-tier markets,” explained Suzanne Christman, Business Development Division Director at PCED. “Our Economic Development team is dedicated to offering the resources needed for local companies like Wendover to flourish and grow. The Employment Sites Program plays a crucial role in achieving this goal. We congratulate Richard and the entire team on this milestone.”
