Colliers International Industrial Report

Retail rental rates vary widely from location to location, with the 4th quarter 2015 overall vacancy rate dropping to 6 percent. Higher end retail remains mostly absent from the county and certain retail categories like furniture, clothing, electronics and general merchandise are under-served, with this consumer spending occurring in adjacent counties, providing opportunities for this type of product in Pinellas. Aging strip centers offer prime prospects for mixed-use redevelopment.

Record breaking tourism and an increasing numbers of visitors with high median household incomes have created the need for higher end accommodations and destination development.
