BïOïTïH Chooses the City of St. Petersburg for Headquarters
Bringing 100 New Jobs to Pinellas County
St. Petersburg (August 31, 2009) - BïOïTïH Holdings (http://www.both-usa.com/) today announced that it has selected Downtown St. Petersburg in Pinellas County, Florida, as the location for its new corporate headquarters. Over the next few years, the company is expected to create 100 new high-wage jobs.
BïOïTïH, an international company with resources in both St. Petersburg and Amsterdam, has pioneered an innovative concept that provides a full range of support functions that independent professionals need to be successful. Through this model, BïOïTïH professionals can focus on core competencies, rather than back-office tasks. Recent statistics indicate more than 30 million U.S. workers are independent contractors.
The City of St. Petersburg, Pinellas County and the State of Florida partnered to compete for the BïOïTïH headquarters against strong bids from both Georgia and South Carolina. BïOïTïH cited Florida's business-friendly climate, Pinellas strong industry clusters, St. Petersburg's vibrant downtown, and the regional workforce as factors in their decision.
However, the deciding factor in the company's choice of St. Petersburg for its headquarters' location was the direct support articulated by the State of Florida, Pinellas Board of County Commissioners and the City of St. Petersburg through Florida's Qualified Target Industry Tax Refund program. Through a partnership between the Governor's Office of Tourism, Trade and Economic Development (OTTED), Enterprise Florida, Pinellas County and the City of St. Petersburg, the QTI program allows new and expanding Florida businesses in targeted, high-growth industries that create new, high paying jobs to receive tax refunds for every new job created.
"We are pleased to become part of the strong business communities in St. Petersburg and Pinellas County," says Erik Vonk, BïOïTïH co-founder and CEO. "We believe our company's growth will create high-wage jobs and look forward to becoming active and involved community citizens."
"We're so pleased with BïOïTïH's decision to place their headquarters in our community," said Calvin Harris, Chairman of the Pinellas Board of County Commissioners. "Pinellas County is the best location in the country for expanding businesses and sharing that message is an important priority for our Board as we strive to create new jobs and opportunities for our citizens."
"Jobs are important for our city, especially during a time when our national economy is struggling," said St. Petersburg's Mayor Rick Baker. "Creation of 100 new jobs downtown is a great announcement for St. Petersburg."
