$650,000 in Funding is Available for Skill Upgrade and Employed Worker Training Programs from WorkNet Pinellas. WorkNet Pinellas is requesting proposals from employers seeking funds to upgrade the skills and training of their current workforce. Special emphasis will be placed on training in Life Sciences, Medical Device Manufacturing, Information Technology, Aviation and Aerospace, Homeland Security, Financial and Professional Services, Manufacturing and Construction. The funding available will provide reimbursement grants to businesses to pay for pre-approved, direct, training-related costs. The application deadline is July 18, 2005, at 3:00 pm. This Just In . . . 44% of Pinellas County Manufacturers Plan to Hire Additional Staff in the Coming Year and 29% Plan to Expand Their Facilities. This is just a preview of the 2005 Pinellas County Manufacturing Survey. PCED is requesting 8 x 10 photos of your business and colleagues to display in our office. Digital photos should be high-quality and include business professionals, not just buildings. We’re looking for on-the-job action shots, group photos and enthusiasm. Ola’ Brasil - Export Marketing Mission to São Paulo, Brazil, September 11–15, 2005. Enterprise Florida is now recruiting Florida manufacturers, distributors, exporters and service companies for a trade mission to Brazil – the state’s largest market for Florida-origin exports.
