Business Assistance Partnership (BAP) Program Welcomes Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce. Pinellas County Economic Development is proud to welcome its newest partner community to the BAPs Program, the Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce. Both organizations will jointly provide business start-up, expansion and retention services to businesses located in the Pinellas County beach communities. Pinellas County Economic Development has formed partnerships with nine chambers of commerce and their respective municipalities to assist businesses throughout the county. EnviroBusiness Collection: Dispose of Hazardous Waste and Electronics, Inexpensively and Conveniently. All businesses that qualify as small waste generators (produce less than 25 gallons or 220 pounds of chemical waste per month) may bring their hazardous waste and electronics to the quarterly EnviroBusiness Collection on Wednesday, August 11, 2004, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Household Electronics & Chemical Collection Center, 2990 110th Avenue North, St. Petersburg. Do You Have What it Takes to be an Entrepreneur? The Pinellas County Business Development Center is hosting Entrepreneurial Assessment, a seminar designed to help entrepreneurs determine if they are ready to own a business, on August 11th, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Participants will determine personal strengths, weaknesses, and their readiness for an entrepreneurial endeavor. There is no fee to attend and all course materials will be provided. Time to Vote. The August 31st Primary Election is Just Around the Corner. Early voting begins August 16th in all Pinellas Supervisor of Elections offices. Pinellas County’s Lorian Williams Wins Florida Minority Supplier Development Council (FMSDC) Apprentice Award. Congratulations to Lorian Williams, President of Chaslo Merchandise & Promotions. Discover New Sales Prospects Through a Videoconference with the Dominican Republic. The U.S. Department of Commerce is pleased to host a videoconference with the Dominican Republic for Tampa Bay firms engaging in international trade. The videoconference will be held August 4th from 9:00 a.m. –11:00 a.m. at Pinellas County Economic Development. Participants will explore a general market overview for international trade in the Dominican Republic, potential opportunities for exporting products, market trends, and upcoming trade missions/workshops. The High Tech Council, a joint effort of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce and the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce, presents Tech Toys or Good Buys: Getting the Right Technology for Your Business, on Thursday, Aug. 26, at Feather Sound Country Club.
