PinellasCounty’s Richard (Buzz) David Honored as Florida’s Economic Development Professional of the Year
The Florida Economic Development Council (FEDC) selected Richard (Buzz) David, CEcD, Director of Pinellas County Economic Development, as the Eunice Sullivan Economic Development Professional of the Year during FEDC’s Annual Conference in Orlando.The award is given in recognition of the achievements of the outstanding economic developer within the State of Florida.Nominees are submitted by their peers throughout the state, and the announcement was made during the annual awards dinner on Tuesday evening in Orlando.
Mr. David thanked FEDC and his colleagues, “I’m very honored to have been selected for the Eunice Sullivan Award.I am grateful to FEDC, and want to thank my colleagues and partners in PinellasCounty, the Tampa Bay Region and the State of Florida.It is a privilege to be recognized by and work with such talented economic development professionals.”
Mr. David was applauded for his over twenty-five years of service with economic development organizations throughout the state.He is a graduate of the University of South Florida, a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), and served as the 2003-2004 Chairman of the Florida Economic Development Council.Mr. David was recently selected as the new President of the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation, and will be departing for Texas later this month.
