City of Dunedin Actively Recruiting New Corporation for former Nielsen Headquarters. Solutions to Funding Expanded Global Sales. Pinellas County Economic Development, the U.S. Department of Commerce Commercial Service and Enterprise Florida Inc., present a Trade Finance Solutions seminar on June 2nd, from 8:00 –10:30 a.m. for companies seeking funds to export products. The seminar will feature keynote speaker John Johnson, Business Development Officer for the Export-Import Bank of the U.S. The seminar will be held at Pinellas County Economic Development and there is no fee to attend. Record Number of Visitors Flock to Pinellas County. According to the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Convention & Visitors Bureau, Pinellas County had approximately 544,685 visitors in March, an increase of 9.2% from the previous year. The added number of travelers from Europe and Canada contributed to the record increase, which had an economic impact of over $323.6 million to the area. Bay Area Manufacturers Association (BAMA) Golfing for a Great Cause. BAMA is hosting the 13th annual golf event to provide high school students and manufacturing employees with scholarships to sharpen their skills. Pinellas County Wants You as a Business Partner. The Pinellas County Business Development Center is hosting How to do Business With Pinellas County, a workshop for Pinellas County businesses interested in registering to become licensed vendors with Pinellas County Government, on June 24th from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. The workshop is presented by Joe Lauro, Director of Purchasing for the County, and will provide participants with step-by-step instructions for registering to become a vendor, applying for contracts, and viewing current bids online. Become Partners at the Polls. The Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections office is recruiting 5,000 poll workers for the 2004 presidential elections. County businesses that “loan” their employees for the program will receive several forms of public recognition, including a mention in St. Petersburg Times advertisements and various newsletters. Poll workers are paid for their time – including their training sessions – and receive a commemorative pin for their efforts.
