Tampa Bay named Mega-Market of the Year for the second consecutive year. Southern Business & Development has announced its 2003 accounting of the top 100 business “deals” among the South’s seventeen states, with Tampa Bay beating out Baltimore/Washington/N.Va. Following in descending order are Dallas/Fort Worth; St. Louis; Atlanta; Houston; and Miami. In ranking the top job generating and corporate investment deals, SB&D cites “Tampa Bay’s performance total was excellent considering the current economy.”  For more information, contact 727-464-7425.

Tech Future Town Hall is scheduled Tue., April 29, 7:30 to 10:00 am, Radisson Hotel, Roosevelt Blvd., St. Petersburg. What roles will universities play in Florida’s tech economy? Rep. Leslie Waters is “Legislator of the Year.” Congratulations to Rep. Waters, District 51 – St. Petersburg, on her selection by the Florida Economic Development Council (FEDC). Pinellas Economic Development Director Buzz David announced the award on March 25 at FEDC’s annual legislative conference in Tallahassee.  According to David, FEDC’s president-elect, “Rep.
