Economic development to shape focus of St. Petersburg College in future years, says SPC president: "To a great extent, economic development in the Tampa Bay area will determine St. Petersburg College's focus for the next 75 years," said Dr. Carl Kuttler, SPC president, in a recent St. Petersburg Times guest column. SPC, which celebrated its 75th birthday on September 14, plans to involve strategic partnerships with governments including the proposed Epi Center, a $28 million joint project with Pinellas County that will focus on technology and business education. Turn your new product ideas into tomorrow's hottest trends: The first ever Florida Technology Transfer Showcase is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, at the U.S. Horticultural Research Laboratory in Fort Pierce. The showcase is hosted by the USDA's Agriculture Research Service (ARS), which creates and commercializes products and is continuing to develop new products.
