8th Fastest Growing City - St. Petersburg/Clearwater/Tampa (Forbes)
Forbes’ annual list of America’s fastest-growing cities provides a holistic picture of places on the upswing. The magazine looks at growth of population, employment, wages, economic output and uses home price growth as a proxy for wealth. Tampa Bay joins metropolitan areas across the country experiencing the biggest surges, growth rates and projections that got them on the list.

Tampa Bay added 7,000 jobs in May, totaling 43,000 since May 2016. Among major Florida metros, only Orlando had more job gains at 7,800 for the month and 48,000 since last year.
